El libro de Judas encierra un mensaje asombrosamente pertinente para nuestro mundo posmoderno.

Judas defiende dos principios que empiezan a ser cada vez más abiertamente denigrados por nuestra sociedad. Por un lado, la existencia de una verdad objetiva que no cambia por el paso del tiempo o por el lugar donde uno viva. Hoy, muchos tienden a pensar que toda verdad es relativa y que tan cierto o válido es lo que yo creo como lo que tú afirmas. Judas, por el contrario, defiende la existencia de una fe cristiana inmutable y objetivamente cierta: "Amados, por la gran solicitud que tenía de escribiros acerca de nuestra común salvación, me ha sido necesario escribiros exhortándoos que contendáis ardientemente por la fe que ha sido una vez dada a los santos" (Judas 3). El cristianismo anuncia una serie de principios inalterables centrados alrededor del señorío absoluto de Jesucristo. Benton le concede, justamente, gran importancia a esta realidad acerca de la soberanía de Jesucristo. Los herejes denunciados por Judas, sostiene Benton, negaban esta absoluta potestad de Cristo. Pero estos principios no pueden ser vendidos o alterados si queremos ser fieles al Dios revelado en las páginas de las Sagradas Escrituras.

The book of Jude has a relevant message for our postmodern world. Jude defends two principles that are being openly rejected by our society. On the one hand, the reality of the existence of objective truth which does not change with the passage of time or with the place where one lives. Today many tend to think that all truth is relative and that whatever you believe is as valid as what anyone else believes. Jude defends the certainty of the Christian faith. On the other hand, the epistle also defends the truth about the person of Christ. The heretics denounced by Jude were denying the power and the sovereignty of Christ. The epistle shows that these truths cannot be altered if we want to be faithful to the God who has revealed himself in the pages of Scripture.
